Leadership Worthington Graduates Class of 1998

Wade Duym
Manager, Avionics Systems Engineering Group, Battelle Memorial Institute
Wade graduated from Muskingum College with a B.A. in Sociology and English. He earned his commission at the US Navy Officer Candidate School, then completed flight training at the US Naval Air Training Command and became a naval aviator. He is a graduate of the US Naval Post graduate School, where he earned two degrees: M.S. Systems Technology and M.S. Engineering Science. He served as an Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer, before retiring at the rank of Commander. He returned to Ohio and joined Battelle in 1995 as a Senior Research Scientist. He is listed in Who's Who in Science and Engineering and is active professionally as a member of the Helicopter Society and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Wade is a career advisor for Muskingum College and is a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church where he serves on the Ministry of Church and Community. He and his wife Virginia have two sons: Wade, a junior, and John, a Freshman, at Thomas Worthington High School.

Lisa L. Edwards
Business Manager/Clerk-Treasurer, Worthington Public Library
Lisa received her B.A. in Business Administration from Stephens College and her M.B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to accepting a position with the library, Lisa served in the United States Air Force as a healthcare administrator. Her responsibilities were similar to those she has in her current position, and she very much enjoys public service. Lisa also participated in a May Department Stores Executive Training Program, worked as a Department Manager and was a Store Manager of Cost Plus Imports, a specialty retail chain based in Oakland, California. Her past community service includes delivery of meals to homebound individuals and participation in a hospital volunteer program. Having recently moved to the Worthington area, Lisa hopes to become more involved and to expand her knowledge of the community. Lisa was married here in Worthington, February 15, 1997, to Alan.

Teresa A. Gresh
Personnel Analyst, Worthington City Schools
Terri received an associate degree from Youngstown State University with additional course work from The Ohio State University. She has worked for the Worthington School District since 1983 as an administrative secretary, interim transportation supervisor, and personnel analyst. As a Worthington School District resident, she has also been involved with volunteer work through the schools. She and her husband, Duane, have two sons, Duane and Jacob.

Elizabeth Anne Hamilton
Associate Attorney, Hanley Law Office
Liz graduated gfrom Marietta College with a B.A. in Business/Communications. She received her law degree from Wake Forest University, School of Law. Liz is a member of the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations, Lawyers for Justice and has served as a Columbus Bar Association Mediator. She is active in the Worthington Area Business and Professional Women on the Mentoring Committee and with the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce as Coordinator for Sunsplash, A Taste of Worthington. Liz belongs to the Greater Columbus Rowing Association, is on the fund raising committee, and is a competitive rower.

Judy Potter Hunter
Residential Realtor, King Thompson Realtors
Judy has her B.A. in Creative Arts from Antioch College. She has been a realtor since 1973, moving her business to Columbus from Dayton, Ohio in 1986. She considers her highest achievements-to-date relocating over 1000 families successfully as a realtor while raising two great kids. Her hobbies are keeping up with (and enjoying) computer literacy and Masters fitness swimming. Judy works with the Columbus Women's Shelter as a Special Projects team member of Altrusa International of Columbus.

Victoria Louise Kilbury
Coordinator of Curriculum and Technology Integration, Worthington Public Schools
Vicki graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and M.A. in Early and Middle Childhood Education. She continues her studies in Educational Administration with Ashland College and The Ohio State University. Previous to her employment with the Worthington School District, she taught and was an elementary and middle school principal at the Jonathan Alder Schools. Vicki has been recognized by the Ohio State Senate and Ohio Governor as an Ohio Distinguished Principal and as a National Distinguished Principal. She has served on the board of the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. She has participated in School Leadership Institute, Ohio Project Leadership, the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, and National Schools Principals Academy. Vicki has just started to volunteer with the Worthington Public Library as a liaison between the schools and the community. Vicki and her husband John have two teen-age children.

John Kinsel
Senior Cost Accountant, Mt. Carmel Hospital
John graduated from Franklin University with a B.S./B.A. in Accounting. John is a member of St. Paul Church and the Villages of Worthington. He is a soccer coach and Block Watch Captain. John runs and played golf in the Mt. Carmel Golf League. John and his wife Kim are involved in St. Ann's Educare program. They have 3 daughters: Courtney, 7, Kathryn, 6, and Kelly, 4.

Timothy J. Lipetz
Software Architect, Lucent Technologies, Bellk Laboratories
Tim received his B.A. in Secondary Education/Communications from the University of Wisconsin and his Masters from The Ohio State University in Computer Science. He has received an honorary promotion as a distinguished member of the Lucent technical staff and the Governor's Award for the Arbor Day Tree Project in Worthington. He is an active member of the Northern Kiwanis and is on the Board of Directors. He also volunteers with the Lucent Pioneers, at the registration for the AIDS Walk and in Leadership Worthington's Service Day. Tim's wife Cynthia Crane graduated from Leadership Worthington in 1991. He has two children: Adam, 9, and Katharine, 6.

Rebecca S. McFall
Banking Office Manager, Huntington National Bank
Becky attended The Ohio State and is currently attending Otterbein College working toward completion of her business degree. She has worked for the Huntington National Bank in various capacities. Her volunteer activities include Junior League of Columbus, Pheresis platelet donor, Ascension Lutheran Preschool board member and Worthington School PTA. Becky is a member of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and works with Worthington Hills Elementary School with their "Banking for Living" and Junior Achievement Programs. She is the mother of two young daughters, MaryKate, 8, and Molly, 6.

Timothy Edwin Moats
Dentist
Tim graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in Zoology, The Ohio State University with D.D.S. and an Advanced Certificate in General Dentistry. Prior to the purchase of his own dentistry practice in Worthington, he was on the staff of The Ohio State University. Tim has been chair of the Worthington United Methodist Church Administrative Council and is now on the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. He teaches senior high Sunday school and was a counselor for the youth fellowship group. Tim is a member of the Dublin-Worthington Rotary Club and serves on several committees. He and his wife Laurie have been married for nine years.

Ann M. Morabito
General Manager, Marriott Corporation
Ann received her associate degree from Monroe Community College in audio visual studies and her B.S. in Communication/Public Relations from the Univesity of Dayton. She has worked for the Mariott Corporation as account manager, multibrand sales, and Director of Sales. As a new resident to Worthington, Ann looks forward to becoming involved in community service and youth groups.

Julie Otto-Riber
Senior Marketing Representative, AIG Specialty Auto
Julie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from The Ohio State University. She has volunteered with the Columbus Literacy Council, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Colonial Hills civic Association. She and her husband of two years enjoy snow skiing, biking, hiking, and running.

Leanne Hoepner Puglielli
Organizational Development Coordinator, Ohio Department of Education
Leanne has her B.A. in Biology from Grinnell College, her M.A. in Radiation Biology Research from Smith College, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, Professional Development and Organizational Theory from The Ohio State University. She has worked as an elementary, middle and high school classroom teacher, as a school principal, and as instruction/evaluation school consultant. From 1986-92 she was the Parish Life Facilitator for St. John's Episcopal church in Worthington, at the same time she was a teaching assistant at The Ohio State. Since 1994 Leanne has been with The Ohio Department of Education. She is a member of Sigma Xi and Phi Kappa Phi, and was named Outstanding Young Woman of America. Her major volunteer activity is with St. John's Episcopal Church. Leanne and her husband, Vince, are the proud parents of two "twenty-somethings," Lara, who travels the world as a manager with Catholic Relief Services, and David, a systems engineer with Electronic Data Systems (EDS).

Katherine Marie Reddy
Self-employed Owner/Agent, Allstate Insurance Co.
Kathi graduated from the Orange County (NY) Community College and has taken business courses at Franklin University. She had been in sales and worked as Business Manager for MONY (Mutual of New York) for nearly 15 years. In 1995 she acquired her own insurance business. She has been recognized in her industry with several citations. Kathi is the past Treasurer and President-elect of the Worthington Area Business and Professional Women. She is looking forward to being of greater service to the Worthington community.

Sharon Bradley Vary
Psychotherapist, self-employed
Sharon received her A.B. degree in sociology and history from Vassar College and her M.S.W. in clinical social work from Smith College. She has worked at the University of Colorado in student health services, at Harding Hospital as clinical liaison and at Healthy Lifestyles, as an EAP specialist. She currently has a private practice in Worthington. In 1996 Sharon received the Friend of Education Award from the Worthington Educational Association, and in 1997 the Principal's Award of Excellence at Worthington Kilbourne High School. She has been an active volunteer at Brookside elementary School, Perry Middle School and now at Worthington Kilbourne High School where she is co-chair of Academic Boosters. She and her husband Mark are very proud of their two children Adam, 18, and Laura, 15.

Paula Gaye Taebel
Homemaker
Paula graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Health Services Administration and also took M.B.A. credits in Marketing. She has worked for the Franciscan Health System as a Market Analyst and as Director of Strategic Planning. Her most recent position was with Mount Carmel Health System as Director of Strategic Planning. At Franciscan Health System Paula was chosen to be trained as a Certified Total Quality Management Facilitator out of 3700 employees. She has been president of the Ohio Society for Health Care Planning and Marketing and chairperson for the Greater Cincinnati Alliance for Health Care Planning and Marketing. Paula's volunteer associations include group leader for the Bellarmine Chapel Youth Group, the physical therapy and burn unit of the University of Cincinnati Hospital, and the Capital Area Humane Society. Paula and her husband Scott have one son, Zachary, 20 months. Paula comments that she has recently put her career "on hold" to stay home full-time with her son. As a result, she is actively pursuing volunteer and community activities that are important and worthwhile.
