Leadership Worthington Graduates Class of 2000
Gloria L. Barsuhn
Executive Director, Harding-Evans Foundation
Gloria graduated from Michigan State University with a B. A. in advertising. She holds the Fund Raising Executive certification. She has been a consultant with the United Way of America, development specialist with Volunteers of America, and Director of Planned Giving with the American Lung Association of Ohio. She has worked with the Harding-Evans Foundation for 2 1/2 years. Gloria has been a volunteer with the United Way Young Leadership Group and Columbus Figure Skating Club. She is a current member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives, Ohio Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and the National Committee on Planned Giving. Gloria is married to Keith Barsuhn. Her passion is the discipline of ice dancing. She is currently working on completing the gold (and highest) level.
Robert J. Beasley, Jr.
Manager, Strategic Communication, Nationwide Insurance Financial
Bob graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in communication, with emphasis on radio-television management. Prior to joining Nationwide Financial in 1996, he served as a senior advertising and public relations specialist with Shelby Insurance. He has been conferred the Certified Insurance Counselor designation by the Society of Professional Insurance Agents. Bob's broadcasting career spanned more than 15 years at several radio stations around Ohio. He has held leadership posts on several statewide and community theater boards. Bob is married to Susan Emerson, marketing director with Connaissance Consulting. They have one son, Sam, a kindergartner at St. Joseph Montessori School. The family is active in several ministries at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Powell.

Craig Carlson

Craig received his A.B. from Duke University in political science and his law degree from Capital University. For six years he was an associate with Luper Sheriff and Neidenthal. Craig is a member of the Columbus Bar Association Bar Admissions and is a former membership chair of the Franklin Inns of Court. He and his wife Valerie have two young children, Haley, 2 1/2, and Phillip, 1 1/2. Craig enjoys golf, travel, and Duke basketball.
Judy L. Colgan
Speech/Language Pathologist, Riverside Methodist Hospital
Judy has M.A. from The Ohio State University in Speech/Language Pathology. She has worked in this field in a variety of hospital settings. Judy has been a member of several boards including: The Ohio Chapter of National Head Injury Foundation and the National Hall of Fame for People with Disabilities. She is married with two sons, ages 3 and 1. Judy enjoys running and cycling in her spare time.
Lisa Fuller
Community Relations Coordinator, Worthington Public Library
Lisa received a B.A. in English from Fredonia State University. Prior to her current position, she worked as Program Coordinator for Public Affairs at the Wexner Center for the Arts. In addition;, Lisa has worked as Director of Marketing and Membership at the Just Buffalo Literary Center in Buffalo, New York and as a freelance editor for Learning Design Associates in Columbus. She is a member of WCBE-90.5 and The Wilds and was a volunteer program coordinator for Winterfest in Buffalo, New York. Lisa lives in Sharon Heights with her husband, Will. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and reading.
Kelli Gargasz
Assistant Vice-President, Banking Center Manager, Fifth Third Bank
Kelli graduated from the University of Kansas with a B. S. in Human Genetics and a B. A. Biology. She has worked for Fifth Third Bank since graduating from college and has held various positions throughout the bank. Most recently, she was the Banking Center Manager in New Albany and has since transferred to BCM of the Worthington office. She has been a community leader with the United Way and an Ohio TRAIN ambassador. She is a loan program co-founder and a loan committee member for AT of Ohio, an assistance information network for Ohioans with disabilities. She was a Charter Member of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. Kelli enjoys collecting various odds and ends, playing golf, reading and spending time with her husband, Tim.
Clifton Emmet Jones
Operations Manager, EDA Industries, Inc.
Cliff served over eight years in the U.S.Navy, where he was trained to be a shipboard electrician. Following his discharge, Cliff attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a B.A. in History. He went on to work at COSECO and TLG Electronics, Inc., where he was promoted to Materials Manager. Before promotion to his current position, Cliff was the Materials Manager at EDA Industries. Cliff is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Alpha Theta, and received the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Department of Ohio Legislative Post Commander Award for 1998-99. He has just completed his term as Commander of the Worthington VFW post and will be the VFW Franklin County Council Surgeon for the coming year. His interests include military history, especially the Civil War, veteran's affairs, hiking and canoeing. Cliff is married with three children, ages 4, 5, and 17.
Kathryn L. Kneubel
Elementary teacher, Worthington City Schools
Kathy graduated form Wittenberg University with a B.A. in English. She worked for the Fifth Third Bank of Columbus in retail banking before receiving her elementary teaching certificate from Otterbein College. She later received her Masters degree in Education from the Ohio State University. Kathy enjoys running and has been involved in fundraising for the Leukemia Society of America through their Team in Training program. She has taught Sunday School and is participating in the volunteer program with Karrington at Tucker Creek. Other activities Kathy enjoys include reading and playing tennis.
Keith Morrison
Realtor, Cam Taylor Co., Ltd., Realtors
Keith is a lifetime resident of Worthington and received his B.A. in business and finance from Otterbein College. He held technical, engineering and management positions during his 23 years with the General Electric Company in Worthington. Keith has also been active in Worthington Youth Boosters and Worthington Kilbourne High School athletic and academic programs. He has two adult daughters, one a day care provider in Dublin, and the other a junior at OSU. Keith enjoys playing golf, swimming, cycling and is planning to spend more time traveling, He is currently vice president of the Greater Worthington Area Realtors Association.
Christine A. Raphael
Treasury Manager, Worthington Industries
Chris graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in accounting and finance. She then went on to work for Beacon Insurance in the accounting department for 1 1/2 years. After leaving Beacon Insurance, Chris spent the next five years working for Worthington Industries in the accounting department and attended school in the evenings. In 1998, she completed her MBA through Dayton University. In 1999, she transferred from the accounting department at Worthington Industries to the treasury department at Worthington Industries. Chris enjoys golf, volleyball, and the outdoors.
Gary R. Reiss
IT Project Manager. Honda of America Mfg.
Gary graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Business Administration with majors in Finance and Computer Science. Since beginning his career with Honda of America, Gary has met many challenges including development of a personal computer training program for Honda of America associates and coordinating the architecture of the computer system during construction of the East Liberty Auto Plant. He has most recently been involved in reengineering business processes and introducing software tools for production and supply chain management. He and his wife reside in Worthington and are members of Immaculate Conception Parish. He enjoys bicycling, fitness training and genealogy.
Lisa L. Sahr
Business Systems Analyst, CorComm
Lisa graduated from University of Maryland with a B.S. in Business Management. She has worked in many different industries including technical training, landscape, architecture, banking, investments and telecommunications. She has lived in Worthington with her husband since relocating from Denver four years ago. She is an active member of the Colonial Hills Civic Association and recently participated in Worthington's Junior Achievement program. Lisa enjoys reading and all outdoor activities including walking, jogging, biking, and gardening.
Geoffrey P. Scott
Attorney, Betzel & Kauffman Co., L.P.A.
Geoffrey graduated from The Ohio State University with his B.S. in education and from Capital University Law School with his J.D. He worked in the Worthington schools for three years and then for Andersen Consulting as a systems analyst. Geoffrey is currently a member of the advisory board for the Central Ohio Area Association on Aging and a member of that board's legislative sub-committee. He is also a member of the Worthington Estate Planning Council. Geoffrey is married to Kristin and they are expecting their first child in November. Geoffrey enjoys gardening, golfing, college basketball and occasionally working on his parent's family farm.
Lori A. Trego
Assistant to the City Manager, City of Worthington
Lori graduated from Ohio Wesleyan with a B.A. in politics and government. She also has her Masters of Public Administration from The Ohio State University. She was with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, where she earned the "Intern of the Year" award and was Administrative Assistant in the Worthington Department of Public Service. Lori is staff liaison to the Worthington Community Relations Commission and the Worthington International Friendship Association. She also works with Partners for Citizenship and Character, the Olde Worthington Business Association and the Worthington Bicentennial Committee. Lori enjoys history, golf and playing the cornet in a community band.
Joseph Frank Wasik
Vice-President, National City Bank, Private Client Group
Joe has his B.B.S. in finance from Kent State University. He has worked at BancOhio National Bank and Key Bank. He is completing his certification in Financial Planning. Joe is a volunteer with Dhiplomats Foundation (Doctors Hospital), Big Brothers/Big Sisters, BalletMet, Society to Prevent Blindness, Auction 34 (WOSU-PBS), and Christmas in April. Joe's wife, Sarah, is a surgical nurse at Grant Hospital and the Ohio Surgery Center. He enjoys sports, music and reading in his spare time.
Ann K. Wennberg
Associate Clinical Project Leader, Ross Products Division, Abbott Laboratories
Ann graduated from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in nutrition, did a dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center, and took graduate courses at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to her current position at Ross Products, Ann was Chief Clinical Dietitian at Fairfield Medical Center. She is a member of the American and Columbus Dietetic Associations. Ann has received the Abbott Laboratories Chairman's Award and the Ross Products Division Award of Excellence and she has written numerous articles for professional journals. She is a member of Columbus Outdoor Pursuits and has volunteered for U.S. Transplant Games, Habitat for Humanity, and the Park of Roses. She enjoys gardening, gourmet cooking and bicycling.
