Leadership Worthington Graduates Class of 2002
Richard Bradley
Rick, a self-employed educational consultant, has a B.A. in Chemistry from Rutgers-the State University, M.Divinity. in Church History from Concordia Theological Seminary, M.Theology in Christian Social Ethics from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D in Education Special Services from The Ohio State University. Some of his consulting contracts are with the Ohio Partners for Character Education, J.C. Nalle Community School, Jackson (Michigan) High School, Quest International, Worthington Schools, Hope Lutheran Church, The Ohio State university and The University Lutheran Chapel. Rick has published extensively and makes numerous presentations on education, faith development, and service-learning. He is a member of the Worthington Public Library board of trustees, the Ohio Governor's Commission on Community Service, and a deacon with First Community Church. Rick is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and other professional education associations.
Anne Brown
Anne is a Community Relations/Public Information Officer for the City of Worthington and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. She worked for WSYX-TV and WBNS-TV as a news and special projects producer before venturing out in the field of Public Relations. Prior to coming to the City of Worthington, Anne was Communications Director at the Franklin County Educational Service Center, where she received the Golden Attitude Award. Among her volunteer activities are Operation Feed, United Way, and the National Schools Public Relations Association as vice-president and president-elect. Anne is married and has two daughters, ages 3 and 11. In her spare time she enjoys theater, dance, music and travel.
J.C. Davis
JC is a Business Coach and Consultant for Action International. He attended Weber State University with a major in Business Management and minor in Computer Science. He is currently attending Franklin University in the area of Organizational Leadership and Management. He has held positions with SmartHaven, CorePros, 3X Corporation, XLConnect Solutions, Inc., MindShare Associates, Technical Advancement Corporation, Front Line Systems, and TRW Information Systems. All of these positions relate to consulting and information services. JC volunteers at his church as a mission leader, Sunday School leader and in the area of public relations. He is a member of the Worthington Network Professionals, coach with youth soccer and baseball, and USAF Welfare Representative.
Tony DiBlasi
After graduation from Ohio University with a B.A. in International Relations, Tony worked seven years as a business analyst and technologist for National Church Residences, a provider of housing and supportive services for modest-incomed seniors and families. Since that time, Tony has been heavily involved with several Columbus-based startup companies as an entrepreneur in the internet/technology sector, where he has been instrumental in defining business/financial models, creating strategic alliances and building business infrastructures. Tony has also served more than nine years on the Board of Directors of Assistance Dogs of America, Inc., a not-for-profit organization providing highly trained service dogs for the mobility impaired. Tony and his wife, Linda, enjoy sailing, golfing and frequent walks in the park.
Michael Duffey
Mike has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, with additional studies in Psychology and Economics. He is currently attends The Ohio State University College of Law. He has interned in the United States Congress, externed for the Ohio Supreme Court and has worked for the Ohio Secretary of State. He has participated in AmeriCorps. He is a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, Young Politicians of America and the Shamrock Club of Columbus. Michael is the youngest of his father's nine children. Mike enjoys running, working-out, painting, music and film. He enjoys meeting other people and learning about new subjects.
Daniel W. Fork
Dan, a Funeral Director with Schoedinger Funeral Services, received undergraduate degrees from the University of Toledo, Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and Lourdes College in business and social sciences. He attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary where he received a Masters of Divinity degree. Dan has been a licensed Ohio funeral director for 25 years serving families in both Northwest Ohio and the Columbus metropolitan area. A former pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church he also served as a chaplain with Grant Medical Center and O.S.U. Hospital. He has served as a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association Education Committee, past board member of Northwestern Ohio Hospice Association Widowed Persons Service and Care Accompanying Loss. He has conducted a series of lectures on the topics of death and bereavement for university, high school and middle school students as well as local church groups. He participates in Trinity Seminary Theatre Group, Common Cause and Supervised Clinical Ministry. Dan is married to the former Patricia Rink and together they have two adult children, Jeffrey and Kelly Ann. His interests include inventing, music, theatre, the visual arts and golf.
Wm. Malcolm Fowlkes III
William, an Assistant Principal, Worthington Kilbourne High School, received his degrees from Vincennes University (A.S. Education), Ball State University (B.A., Education), and University of Dayton (M.A., Educational Administration). He has worked for East Allen County Schools as a teacher and Athletic Director, and the Ohio Department of Youth Services as Superintendent and Principal. He has received the Outstanding Service Award from the Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, Co-Employee of the Year from the Ohio Department of Youth Services, and Teacher of the Year from East Allen County Schools. Malcolm is the Minister of Christian Education and an ordained Deacon at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church. He is basketball and football coach for two leagues and a member of Phi Beta Sigma.
Debra Ilves
Debra graduated from Central Ohio School of Massage and has been in private practice for ten years. Prior to that, she worked in drug rehabilitation for Comp Care at St. Anthony's Hospital after receiving a degree in Mental Health from Columbus State Community College. Debra is active in the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador and with the Worthington Songsters as Chairperson. She has also volunteered for the Hope Hotline, Youth to Youth, Maryhaven, the Witness Assistance Program, Worthington Schools and Worthington Squares.
Delacea Keaton
Lace Reference Services Manager, Worthington Librarieshas a B.A. in Humanities from George Williams College and a Masters of Library Science from Clark Atlanta University. She has worked for Nye Library in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and Gwinneti County Public Library in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Lace is a member of the American Library Association and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).
Shirley Lambert, Business Development Manager, The Guernsey Bank
Shirley attended Ohio University, She has worked for State Savings Bank as a new account representative. Shirley has received the Director's Award from the Guernsey Bank and the Customer Service and Leadership Awards from State Savings. She is treasurer of the Olde Worthington Business Association, Ambassador with the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, on the endowment committee of the Worthington United Methodist Church, and president of the Worthington Area Business and Professional Women. Shirley has been married to her husband Joe for 37 years. Their daughter, Dr. Lisa A. Lambert, was married in Providence, Rhode Island on August 11, 2001 to Dr. Sean Giterwyk.
Jason Moore, Human Resources Generalist, Worthington Industries, Inc.
Jason graduated in 1999 from The Ohio State University with a B.M. in Orchestral Trombone Performance. He has held several roles within the human resources department at Worthington Industries, including benefits administration, training, and recruiting. He is active as a musician throughout the mid-west and has performed with a variety of orchestras, jazz groups, and also played with numerous pop and reggae artists. Jason is a past member and current alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. In 1992, he received the highest honor in scouting, the Eagle Scout Award. He has a son who is two years old.
Andrew Parsons, Realtor, Cam Taylor Co., Realtors
Andy graduated from Thomas Worthington High School and has been a lifelong resident. He attended The Ohio State University and Hondros College. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors and currently carries the Certified New Homes Sales Professional designation. Andy enjoys coaching youth football and spending time with his wife, Lindsay, son, Austin, and dog, Jake.
Mike Pentecost, Associate Minister, Worthington Presbyterian Church
Michael graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Business Management. He received his Master of Divinity degree from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Michael first served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Freeport, Texas before coming to Worthington Presbyterian Church. He has a wife and two sons (4 and 10 months). His hobbies include baseball, golf and growing roses.
Pamela Sparks, Director of Admissions, Laurels of Norworth and Worthington
Pamela has attended Capital University directing her interest to Music Education. She has been in long term care for 19 years. She started her career in the health care industry as a certified nursing assistant working with handicap adults. Eleven years were spent with Arbor Health Care Company where Pam was the Activity Director and then an Activity Consultant when she moved on to become the Admission Director. Pam has her National certification for Activity Professionals, her EMT certification, is a certified insurance counselor for seniors through OSHIIP, and is a Train the Trainer for The Pieces of the Puzzle Alzheimer's program. She is a graduate of Leadership Delaware.
Brian Steele, Investment Officer, Fifth Third Securities
Brian has a B.A. Telecommunications from The Ohio State University. He is currently in the M.B.A. program at Capital University. He has worked for Payco General American Credits, Incorporated as a collection supervisor and at Huntington Investment Company as an investment officer. Brian is a co-leader of the Saints of Security Ministry for the New Salem Baptist Church. He is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity (Columbus Alumni Chapter), a lifetime member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association and a member of the Columbus Council on World Affairs. Brian is a member of the United Way's Leadership Circle. Brian volunteers for the United Way and Adopt-A-Family.
Mark Watson, CEO, Watson Equity Partners, Inc.
Mark has been self-employed since 1998 and currently owns Watson Equity Partners, Inc. and its three subsidiaries. His background is in internet, telecom and computer technology. He has been a member of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce for several years and also launched TeleCoffee in March 2001 as a platform for information commerce professionals. In addition to his professional activities, Mark volunteers at the Scioto Juvenile Correctional facility. Mark is happily married since 1996 to Marcella. Amy Weinsz, consultant
Amy graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in Business Administration. She has worked for Hyatt Hotels Corporation in operations management and in Human Resources including the position of Human Resources Director. While with Hyatt Hotels, Amy received management recognition awards, participated in adopt-a-school partnerships and was instrumental in the creation of the HOST program assisting those in the welfare-to-work transition. While working at Red Roof Inns, Inc., Amy was the Management Training Program Coordinator and a trainer. Amy is currently doing consulting from her home office so she can focus on being a full time mom. Amy is married with two children. She enjoys time spent with her family and likes being active outdoors walking, swimming and biking. Amy is a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church.
April Williams, Majority Legal Counsel, Ohio Senate
April has a B.A. in Public Administration from Miami University and a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law where she graduated cum laude. She has also worked for the Ohio Legislative Service Commission. April is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and the Ohio State Bar Association. She is a past president of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and has worked on numerous political campaigns. Her husband Kevin graduated from Leadership Worthington in 2001. April is an avid football fan and enjoys playing soccer.
